The Food Section encourages subscribers to comment on stories, but the same rules which prevail in The Food Section’s Facebook group apply here. To wit:
Keep it civil. Debate is welcome. Name-calling is verboten. Any comments which coarsen the tenor of the conversation will be deleted.
Practice transparency. If you have a personal or professional connection to a restaurant, please don’t promote it without disclosing your relationship.
Stay on topic. If it’s not about food and drink in the American South, please post elsewhere.
Don’t post advertisements. If you’re seeking coverage, please consult the “For those with a story to tell” post in this section. All comments promoting businesses; specials or events will be deleted.
Exercise common sense. The Food Section will not tolerate hate speech, bullying or the intentional dissemination of misinformation. Comments which fit into any of the foregoing categories will be deleted and the subscribers responsible for them will lose their commenting privileges.
If you have any questions regarding The Food Section’s commenting policy, or have feedback that you’d prefer to not post publicly, e-mail readthefoodsection@gmail.com. Thank you for being an engaged reader!
