The Food Section is throwing a party
And you're invited (so long as you're a paid subscriber.)
As subscribers know, Monday’s feature this week was about Ark-Mex, a hyper regional cuisine that’s falling off the map for good reason. (Namely, it’s the vestige of a time when there were barely any Mexicans in Arkansans.)
But some Ark-Mex fans are having a tough time giving up their favorite restaurants, which to them felt like perpetual parties.
That’s understandable: Parties are fun—which is why The Food Section is throwing one.
The Food Section will hold its first-ever subscribers’ reception in North Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday, Mar. 5 from 3 p.m.-5 p.m.
If you’re a paid subscriber, all you have to do to register for the event is click the below button and provide the email address of one person who you think might enjoy The Food Section. Off you go.
And if you’re not a paid subscriber, you just have to take one extra step to get your crack at seafood and sweets: You have to subscribe to The Food Section before RSVP’ing. While I hope The Food Section’s independent coverage of food and drink across the American South has already prompted you to think about supporting its work, I also get it if you just want to eat crab legs.
Once you’ve subscribed and RSVP’d, you’ll receive a confirmation email with additional details about the event, including instructions for submitting your vaccination information.
We have plenty to celebrate. I hope to see you soon.
I suppose I could have kept the “C” theme afloat by pouring Champagne, but we run a tight-budget ship over here.
